It's almost time for our Winter Break! 

Are you ready to relax and read more books?

All About The Books

  • Please return or renew any books you already have checked out
  • If you borrow a book for the holidays, please do not take it with you if you travel
  • Keep your school library books in a place you will remember so you can return them in January
  • All books are due the week of January 8th 
  • Keep track of the number of books you read so you can add beads to our jar!

Scholastic Book Fair

 The Scholastic Book Fair is this week!

This important library fundraiser will be in the Learning Commons this week! All proceeds will be used to purchase books and other resources to keep our collection current and relevant. 


We look forward to seeing families on Thursday evening during conference times!

  • Monday : Set up
  • Tuesday : Class previews
  • Wednesday : Class previews
  • Thursday : Sales 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 5 - 8 pm

Brochures were sent home with students last Thursday and Friday.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is Saturday, November 11th.

We will be honouring Remembrance Day on Wednesday, November 8th at Willow Park School. 

November is a good time to reflect on our history as a nation.

Come up to the Learning Commons and borrow a book. We have a great collection of fiction and non-fiction books on display for Remembrance Day.

October is Latin American and Hispanic Canadian Heritage Month.

From the 2023 Statement by Minister Khera . . . 

. . . a time to celebrate and remember past and current contributions of Canadians of Latin American Origin. Canadians of Latin American origin in Canada enrich communities across the country with their vibrant cultures, cuisine, music, and traditions. October is Islamic Heritage Month in Canada!

Orange Shirt Day and Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today we honour Orange Shirt Day and Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is nice to see so much orange in hallways, classrooms, learning commons, and playground. Students and staff come together today to share and learn and create.

The Learning Commons is located upstairs in the middle of the school. It is a big bright space you can visit on your own or with your class.

I am Mrs. Dickson and I work in the Learning Commons. I can help you with books and technology. Or maybe you need a quiet place to work independently? I'm here for you!

You will find me in the Learning Commons . . .

  • 10 am to 3 pm

PRIDE Month in Canada

June is PRIDE Month in Canada!

Pride Season is a term that refers to the wide range of Pride events that take place over the summer (June to September) when 2SLGBTQI+ communities and allies come together to spotlight the resilience, celebrate the talent, and recognize the contribution of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. Click πŸ‘‡


Calgary Pride Week will be celebrated August 26 to September 4, 2023. The Pride Festival will be held September 2 and 3 at Prince's Island Park. The Parade will return to Calgary on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Click πŸ‘‡
