We welcome and value all transgender students and staff members at Willow Park School. </p><p><span style="color: #800180; font-size: medium;"><b>What is Gender Identity?</b></span></p><p>Gender identity describes a personβs internal and individual experience of gender. A personβs gender identity may be the same as or different from their assigned sex at birth. It can be a personβs sense of being a woman, man, both, neither or anywhere along the gender spectrum. </p><p>For example, people whose gender identities match the sex they were assigned at birth are cisgender. People whose gender identities are different than the sex they were assigned at birth may use the word transgender (trans) or another term they feel more aligned with.</p><p>For more information, click π</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://kidshelpphone.ca/get-info/gender-identity-gender-expression/" rel="nofollow" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="159" data-original-width="274" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNLLtBBk12Ei14KxdNtouU7yLS3v9mcp-ZryX0phyphenhyphenwVt4xPAO395xhlURp5f7K3PUct0orHwv-tHnNviKVMzzIErsGBUy9dVW0cFDteheROzRXtwHAliaRAMV2lZYnsY_jkzk7iOpdYWtqmwQcPe5goNsL0Mw2Om9gkusPKa5nzLJJVUZ5NxvT2o7OMCDk/w400-h232/Kids%20Help%20Phone%20purple.png" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><span style="color: #800180; font-size: medium;"><b>Pronouns Matter</b></span></p><p>Pronouns are the words that replace people's names.
